Hello! Thank you very much for dropping by this page.
Firstly, let’s start with: what type of books do you accept?
I like to think I would read anything I can get my hands on, and that is basically true, but I will accept the following:
- YA – contemporary (inc. romance)
- YA – fantasy
- YA – sci-fi
- YA – historical fiction
- YA – mystery
- Mystery
- Thriller
- Historical fiction
- Fantasy
- Contemporary/romance
- MG – approach me with any MG (middle grade) book!
If you have a book but the genre has not been listed here, then shoot me an email anyway, if you think I will like it, and possibly review it. In the past, I have picked up Western novels and ‘weird-fiction’ too, so anything is possible! However, I do not accept:
- Horror
- Supernatural
- Books with racism, or homophobia
Feel free to check out my review archive, to get a feel for the books I usually review on this site.
I will consider and possibly accept self-published/indie books.
How will I read it?
Ideally, I would like a physical copy of the book (either paperback or hardback). I will take eARCs on occasion too, but I definitely prefer a hard copy. I do have a Kindle, but it is getting on a bit, and I won’t read a novel unless it is a novella on my phone.
Disclaimer
Do not expect my turn around date for the book to be immediate. I will always try to get a book review done on or just after the publishing date of a book, but I am busy and this is not always able to happen. I reserve the right to not review a book if I didn’t feel able to do so – for example, if I was swamped, or if I felt that the book was problematic.
Also, if I did not enjoy your book, you must be aware that a negative review may be written. I refuse to lie to my readers. I will always be respectful in any book I chose to review; a negative book review is not an attack on the author.
Anything else?
I will always try to post my review to Goodreads too.
I will also participate in other types of book promo – like blog tours, author interviews, and giveaways. I may not always accept these (eg interviewing an author I don’t know may not always be in the best ideals of my readers and myself), but email me to give it a shot.
How do am I to be contacted?
Email me: sprinkledwithwords [at] hotmail [dot] com. I will try to get back to you ASAP but it may take a few days.
In your email, please tell me the title, author, book description and publishing date, plus any relevant information.
Thanks for reading!
