Another unboxing of my favourite book box! I love Books By Nature and October’s box, Dangerous Adventures, was a hit!
This box lived up to expectations and then some, and I have to say that much of the box no longer exists as I have either consumed the items, or used them – exactly as it was meant to be!
So let’s get into the box! This month, we received…
- A bar of handmade shea butter soap
- A bamboo toothbrush
- A roll of bamboo toilet roll!
- A chocolate “mylk” shake
- A drawstring backpack with the quote “all good things are wild and free”
- A collectable print
- And of course, the book… Giften by Leyla Suzan!
First up: eco-friendly items! I love these items promoted in this box! My partner’s family use bamboo toilet paper and not only is it more eco-friendly than regular toilet paper, but it’s super soft too. And I’ve wanted to use a bamboo tooth brush for a while! I’m going to wait until my current electric toothbrush dies, but the bristles are really soft and I’m excited to use it. And the shea butter is really lovely to use too. It’s decorated in little roses and it’s super pretty!
Then we have a drawstring bag! I think this item is super cool, and practical in different ways to a tote bag. Tote bags are also really common in book boxes, but I’ve never seen a drawstring bag in one before. And finally, we have the mylk shake! I have yet to try this, but I’m very excited to, and I hope it will be delicious!
Ever since The Darkening, survival has been a struggle. The people of the Field toil on parched earth, trying to forge a life amid dwindling resources. As one of the Giften, Ruthie is a saviour to her isolated community: her hands hold the rare ability to raise food from dead soil. But she is also its greatest danger.
In the City lurks a dark army, intent on hunting Giften to harness their power, destroying all who stand in their way. With the threat growing ever stronger, Ruthie and her friends must leave behind all they have ever known and embark on a quest that will pitch them towards the City, and unknowable danger. One way or another, a battle is coming.
An eco-thriller! I haven’t read an eco-thriller before, and I’m super excited to try Giften! It seems fascinating and has so many good reviews on Goodreads so far. Have you tried Giften?
I really loved this book box! I’m excited to read the book and, like I’ve said, I’ve already used many of the products in the box so far!
Thanks for reading this post! Would you have liked to receive the Dangerous Adventures box? (PS, if you want to, Books by Nature are still selling them!)
Until next time,
