Reading Wrap-Up | March 2021

March was a pretty slow reading month for me! I had eyes bigger than my brain for my to be read list, and ended up reading 4 books over all. Whilst this isn’t necessarily bad, it’s frustrating to me as someone who wants to read a lot!

Why didn’t I read much? Well a lot actually happened in March, which I didn’t really realise until I looked back. We transitioned from working from home to back into the workplace; BoJo made lots of announcements; and in my personal life.

But let’s talk about what I did read!

  1. Kill Joy by Holly Jackson – 4/5 for this one! I enjoyed it, but it didn’t grip me in the same way her other novels did, perhaps because this one is a short story!
  2. Deal With the Elf King by Elise Kova – 5/5, I LOVED this book, and could not put it down!
  3. Iqbal by Francesco D’Amado – 3.5/5, this book tugs at your heartstrings and it’s such an accessible read.
  4. The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson – 5/5, a great ending to a fabulous trilogy. I need to reread these ones in the future!

So whilst I didn’t read much, the rating of the books I did read was super high, so I’m happy!

In April, I have a few books I need to read for work, but aside from that I have no firm plans. Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon does take place this month, though, so fingers crossed…

What was the best book you read in March?
