The Reading Rush starts TOMORROW! Aah! And, as per my entire personality, this blog post is coming LATE.
Today I’m talking about my Reading Rush TBR! What’s on yours?
- Read a book with a cover that matches the colour of your birth stone.
As a May baby, my birthstone is Emerald. For this one, I am choosing The Confessions of Frannie Langton by Sara Collins which is a lovely deep green colour!
- Read a book that starts with the word “The”.
I love this challenge! My pick for this is The Old Man and the Gun by David Grann, which is true crime short stories.
- Read a book that inspired a movie you’ve already seen.
I’ve bent the rules for this one a little and have chosen a book that inspired a TV series: Manhunt by Colin Sutton. I watched the ITV series when it originally came out, and would like to read the memoir that inspired it.
- Read the first book you touch.
I scrolled through my Amazon Kindle list for this one, and landed on Diary of a Confused Feminist by Kate Weston. Exciting!
- Read a book completely outside of your house.
This was a challenge I had a bit of a problem with, as we’re in the middle of a pandemic at the moment… so I chose a really short book: Matilda by Mary Shelley. I’m excited to read this one, as her own father wouldn’t let her publish it!
- Read a book in a genre that you’ve always wanted to read more of.
The genre I picked was memoir/self help, and I’m planning on reading Things We See Only When We Slow Down by Haemin Sunim. It’s a self help book, I think, but I’m excited to delve in and look properly.
- Read a book that takes place on a different continent than where you live.
I live in Europe, so I chose Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo, which takes place in North America. Very excited for this one; I’ve heard great things.
What’s on your TBR, if you’re taking part in this readathon? I’m going to be daily vlogging on my channel (see my TBR video below!) but come back next week for a wrap-up to see how I did!
You can also stay up to date on my Instagram, where I’ll be posting lots of pictures and stories. Stay safe!
