Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon April 2020 | Wrap-Up

As predicted, I am terrible at 24 hour Readathons.

It’s like, I’m excited all week, and then it gets to the 24 hours and I find anything to do but reading. Instead, this readathon I found plenty of other things to do: mowing the lawn, getting a takeaway, watching a film, doing yoga, baking a cake, and making a bucket list. Also, sleeping. A lot.

My wrap up this readathon is: 300 pages of Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon! Whilst I wanted to read the whole book in the 24 hours, it’s still 300 more pages read than what I had at the beginning. So I count it as a success.

This year I got way more involved in social media. Normally I’m pretty nervous about it: “But I’m an outsider! What if no one wants me there?” Then I remember that we’re all stuck at home and to be honest, no one really cares about it that much. We’re all readers, we’re all reading, and now we’re all talking about reading. I had a lot more fun connecting with people this year. Maybe the 24 hour readathon should be called “Dewey’s 24 Hour Talkimg About Reading”.

I hope you enjoyed the whole 3 posts I did about the Readathon…. new post on Tuesday!

Until then,
