Charms Extra Credit Magical Readathon | readathon sign up & tbr

Since I’ve decided to have this blog exclusively for books, and keep my other blog for writing, lifestyle, and travel, all of my bookish posts will now be on here. As such, this post is going to be a TBR for a readathon I’m taking part in next week!

charms extra cred

The readathon is called the “Charms Extra Credit” readathon, and it’s part of Book Roast‘s Magical Readathon series, which started with the OWLs and NEWTs earlier this year. I missed the earlier readathons, but when I saw this one I got really excited and decided to take part next week! The readathon dates are 8th – 14th October.

I think that, in order to sign up, you just post your TBR – so without further ado, let’s get to that!

Alohomora – read the first book of a series

For this one, I’ve chosen the one of two “first book of a series” that I haven’t read on my shelf – Black Eyed Susans by Julia Heaberlin. It’s a thriller, so perfect for October!

Incendio – words “fire”/”flame” in the title or on the cover

I’ve chosen Two Dark Reigns by Kendare Blake, which I’m actually currently reading, but it’s literally the only book on my shelf that fits this description! It has flames on the cover (you can just about see them on its spine too). I really hope it counts if you started the book before the ‘thon started!

Lumos – a book with a light cover

I chose Notes on Nationalism by George Orwell for this one, which is a book of essays.

Accio – book on top of your TBR

I had to of course pick a uni book for this challenge! I’m going to be reading The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins. This is my top priority next week, as I have to have it read by Friday!

Rictumsempra – book that “tickles” you the right way

I wasn’t sure what to go for for this one, but in the end I chose Anthem for Doomed Youth by Wilfred Owen, which is a book of WWI poetry. I love WWI poetry, and have yet to read this miniature collection!

As you can see, I chose two books which are less than 100 pages to give me a better shot at the readathon, but the rules are that if it has a page on Goodreads it counts!

readathon poster to keep track of my tbr. I’m going to trace over the spells when I’ve completed the challenge!

I’m so looking forward to this readathon – I haven’t done one in a while – and it’s Harry Potter themed which is my absolute fave! I hope I get some evenings curled up in a big jumper with my book and a hot chocolate.

Are you taking part in the Charms Extra Credit readathon?

Until next time,
