When Jon and Suzie have sex, they can stop time. Literally. And when they stop time, they rob banks.
As you do.
But it seems that they’re not alone and the self-appointed Sex Police want to stop them from doing what they’re doing. And that’s why we have Sex Criminals: Volume Three.
Sex Criminals is really weird. Like, the premise is weird. The writing is weird. It’s just weird.
Volume Three was weirder than normal. There was a set of comics in the middle where Matt and Chip break the fourth wall and have a massive freak out over where this comic is going. There were a bunch of other bits where they were like, “We couldn’t be bothered to draw this because it’s boring so here you go now back to the plot,” so it was kind of disjointed.
However, it was funny. It really was, I was cackling whilst reading it.
It’s such a bizarre concept and DEFINITELY NSFW, but it’s a really amusing comic piece, and yes, I would recommend it. Although only if you’re 18 or over and a little bit odd.
There were a bunch of new characters introduced and I really love the sexual diversity because ASEXUAL CHARACTER AND AN EXPLANATION OF HOW ASEXUALITY ACTUALLY FEELS HECK YES. Literally. So good. Love.
And also a weird semen-demon thing. I still don’t get that.
Jon and Suzie are so adorable and I just want them to get married and have wee odd sexual babies who freak out as teens when they discover under the sheets at 1:30 in the morning that they can also stop time with a climax.
Okay this review got real weird real fast.
This comic has gotten a little bit more bizarre than I was expecting. I actually suspect that Chip and Matt have gone, “Oh, shit,” and gotten themselves really confused with the actual plot line they’re meant to be following. Volume Four comes out at the end of August though, and I am really excited to read it. It’s not a comic that I would ever take seriously, but it promotes sex positivity, sexual diversity, and it’s also really funny, so for those reasons I will continue to read and recommend the series.
